Registration opens soon for a brand new interactive online course, designed to help you preserve your family legacy – from the stories to the heirlooms, we’ll cover organization and preservation techniques and strategies for getting family members to love it as much as we do.
Q: So, how does this work?
A: Each Saturday morning of the course, you’ll have access to a new one-hour video, reference materials, and a homework assignment. Watch the video at your convenience, and as often as you want to!
Q: When is the homework due?
A: The homework is optional, so there’s no due date. However, to get the most out of the course, you should start the homework before the weekly discussion session.
Q: Discussion session? How does that work?
A: Each Friday evening of the course, we’ll meet up on Zoom to talk about the video and how your week is going. This is the time to ask questions about the homework, specific challenges you’re having with your items, brainstorm with your classmates, and pick up some more ideas. You’ll also be able to ask questions about the next video.
Q: What if I can’t attend one of the discussion sessions?
A: That’s not a problem! Email your questions ahead of time so I can cover them. The video from the discussion session will be posted with the other course materials for you to watch.
Q: I’m really busy. How long do I have to access the videos and materials?
A: You’ll have access to watch all the videos for three months. You’ll be able to download the reference materials and homework assignments to keep forever.
Q: Tell me more about the bonus, please. What can I use my FREE 30 minutes on?
A: For this first session of the course, every person who signs up gets a FREE 30-minute consult. You can use it for a more in-depth discussion of a specific issue that’s come up during the homework. For instance, you might want to find out if there really is a horse thief in the family tree but you’re not sure where else to look for records. We’ll brainstorm some ideas. Or, you’d like to get some one-on-one tutoring on using a specific website. Or, you’d like help deciding on a file naming system. Just use your consultation within a year.

Q: What happens after I sign up?
A: You’ll get a confirmation email right away, and be able to add the meeting reminders to your calendar. There’s a 5-minute reminder to check out the videos and materials as soon as they are available, and reminders for our discussion group meetings. You’ll get another email with your password to the materials page and the code to book your FREE 30-minute consultation the day before the class.
